Kerala M.Tech admission 2011


Applications have been invited by Department of Technical Education, Kerala for admission to Post Graduate Degree Courses in Engineering offered to the graduates in Engineering, in following four Engineering Colleges for awarding Masters Degree in the appropriate branches by the concerned Universities.

1. College of Engineering, Thiruvananthapuram (University of Kerala)
2. TKM College of Engineering, Kollam(University of Kerala)
3. Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Technology, Kottayam (M.G.University)
4. Government Engineering College, Thrissur (University of Calicut)

Eligibility for admission:
a) The candidates shall be an Indian National
b) The candidates should have studied the Graduate course in an institution approved by the AICTE/Deemed Universities.
c) Candidates should have a minimum of 60% aggregate marks in the Engineering Degree examination. For SC/ST candidates a pass in the Engineering Degree course is sufficient.
d) Candidates, who have passed AMIE/AMIETE Examinations and satisfying the following conditions, are eligible for admission to institutions under University of Kerala.
1) They must have valid GATE score.
2) A minimum of 55% marks for section B in AMIE/AMIETE examination.
3) Minimum three years of Professional experience in the field of Specialization after acquiring the qualifying degree.
e) Candidates who have appeared for the final semester examination can also apply, provided he/she has passed all the subjects upto and including the 7th semester exam. Such candidates shall submit self-attested copies of all mark lists up to 7th semester along with the application.
f) Admission shall normally be restricted to those with valid GATE score.
However, this stipulation is relaxed in the case of Sponsored candidates.
g) In case seats remain vacant due to lack of candidates with valid GATE score, candidates from Kerala State without valid GATE score will be considered against such vacancies.

Submission of Applications:

Applications should be filled online logging on to the website www.cet.ac.in.
The different entries in the application are to be filled with extreme care, as this information is used for preparing the rank list. After submitting the application online, a printout of the filled up application should be taken and sent along with a Demand Draft for Rs. 250/- (Rs. 50/- in case of SC / ST candidates), drawn in favour of the Principal, College of Engineering, Thiruvananthapuram payable at Trivandrum from any nationalized bank with copies of the following documents, to the Principal, College of Engineering, Thiruvananthapuram.
a) Engineering Degree certificate and Mark lists.
b) GATE Score card (for Candidates with valid GATE Score)
c) Community and Income certificate issued by the village officer for candidates who claim eligibility under SEBC quota
d) Community certificate issued by the Tahsildar for candidates who claim eligibility for reservation under SC/ST quota.
e) Nativity certificate from the village officer in the case of Keralite Students seeking admission under non-GATE Category.
f) True copy of professional experience certificate from the Head of the organizations where the candidate is working in case of those who passed AMIE/AMIETE.

Selection of Candidates:

a) The selection of Candidates will be supervised by the selection committee consisting of Director of Technical Education (Chairman), Senior Joint Director (ECS) and Principals of College of Engineering, Thiruvananthapuram, TKM College of Engineering, Kollam, Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Technology, Kottayam & Government Engineering College, Thrissur. The Principal College of Engineering Thiruvananthapuram will be the co-ordinate and the Venue for admission work is College of Engineering, Thiruvananthapuram.

b) Selection of candidates will be based on the GATE score. In case of tie, advantage will be given to the candidates who secure highest aggregate marks up to 7th semester in their qualifying examination..

c) If sufficient GATE qualified candidates are not available, the selection will be made from Keralite candidates based on the aggregate marks up to 7th semester in their qualifying examination. Candidates who have produced Nativity Certificate, at the time of application will only be considered for this.

d) Allotment list will be prepared and published in the institutions, as well as in the websites, www.dtekerala.gov.in and www.cet.ac.in .

e) Allotment letter can be downloaded from the website www.cet.ac.in.
Selected candidates have to join the respective colleges on or before the last date. Otherwise, the admission will be cancelled.

f) When filling the seats, firstly the additional seats reserved exclusively for SC/ST candidates will be filled from the rank list. Subsequently allotment will be done for the general seats and then for the other reserved categories.

g) Sponsored candidates, if any, will be admitted as per relevant Government orders.
h) Transfer Certificate issued from the institutions last attended must be produced at the time of admission.

i) The selection of Candidates will be provisional and subject to verification of original documents by the principals concerned at the time of admission.

j) The candidates who obtain admission and discontinue studies after the closing of admission in the same year or in subsequent years are liable to pay the tuition fee and special fee for the remaining period of the course as liquidated damages.

Last date to receive the printed application form Along with DD: 18th June 2011, 4pm
First Allotment: 1st July 2011
Date of Joining: 7th July 2011
Second Allotment: 13th July 2011
Date of Joining: 18th July 2011
Third Allotment: 24th July 2011
Date of Joining: 1st August 2011
Commencement of Classes: 4th August 2011
