UG Admissions 2011-2012


Applications are invited for admission to the following Under-graduate degree programmes in the University of Agricultural Sciences, Bangalore for the Academic year 2011-12.

Programmes offered and eligibility:
1. BSc (Agri.)* / BSc (Agri.Biotech.) / BSc (Forestry) / BSc (Seri.):
Should have passed two years PUC with of Karnataka (45%) or its equivalent examination with PCB (45%) and any other optional Science subject or Inter(Agri.). In case of SC / ST, Cat-I and OBC (40%).

2. BSc (Ag.Maco.) / BTech (Agri.Engg.) / BTech(Food Science & Technology):
Should have passed two years PUC of Karnataka (45%) or its equivalent examination with PCM (45%) and any other Science subject or Inter(Agri.). In case of SC / ST, Cat-I and OBC (40%).

Admission:
Merit for admission is based on PCB marks for Sl. No. 1 and PCM marks for Sl.No. 2. Merit for Agriculturists quota is based on 50 per cent marks of PCB / PCM as required and 50 per cent of Practical Test marks. A Practical Test will be conducted by the University for admission to seats reserved for Children of Agriculturists.

Reservation of Seats:
Excluding the All India quota under ICAR, New Delhi, reservation of seats for various categories will be made in accordance with the existing reservation policy of Government of Karnataka. Provision is also made for admission to the Kashmiri Migrants. There is also provision to admit Foreign Nationals / NRIs / Children of NRIs on payment of prescribed Institutional Economical Fee.

For all the Under-graduate degree programmes only one application is sufficient. Applications can be obtained either in person or through post from the following addresses on all working days:

Application fee: The application fee is Rs.500/- (for General category)/Rs. 250/- (for SC/ST /Cat-I of Karnataka State only on production of a copy of valid caste certificate) to be paid in the form of Demand Draft only drawn in favour of the Comptroller, UAS, Bangalore, payable at Bangalore.

Last date for issue of Application is 16-06-2011 (4.00 pm)
Last date for submission of filled in application (at The Registrar, Uas, Gkvk, Bangalore - 560065 only) is 27-06-2011 (4.00 P.M.)

Centralised Allotment Process (CAP)

Applications have been invited for admission to all UG programmes in the affiliated Arts & Science Colleges/Constituent Colleges owned and run by the MG University, Kottayam for the academic Year 2011-12 through Centralised Allotment Process (CAP) except UG Programmes under the Faculty of Fine Arts and those UG Programmes admission to which is based on entrance examinations.

Details of seats that come under the ambit of centralised Allotment Process:
i) Govt. Colleges: Total seats available in government colleges
ii) Aided Colleges: Open quota seats, seats earmarked for SC/ST candidates.
iii) Unaided Colleges/Unaided Programmes conducted in Aided Colleges: 50% of the total seats inclusive of seats reserved for SC/ST and SEBC.
iv) Constituent Colleges owned and run by the University: 50% of the total seats including seats resrved for SC/ST and SEBC.

How to Apply:

For prospectus on Centralised Allotment Process candidates have to visit the website: www.mgu.ac.in Candidates can apply in a single application form for all the UG Degree Programmes in various affiliated colleges. Application fee for General candidates is Rs.100/- and Rs.50/- for SC/ST Candidates. Printout of filled up applications are to be submitted along with the copies of the necessary documents to Deputy Registrar (Acad-I), MG University, PD Hills, Kottayam - 686560 by post or in person.
