Applications on the prescribed forms have been invited by Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, Ludhiana from the candidates residing in Punjab, Union Territory of Chandigarh and from Kashmiri Migrants for admission to various Undergraduate and Master’s programmes for the academic session, 2011-12 as per eligibility given below:
Undergraduate Programmes:
BVSC & AH 5-year programme:
10+2 or equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English from a recognized Board / University with at least 50% marks in aggregate (40% marks in aggregate for SC & BC categories) excluding optional subject.
BFSC (Bachelor of Fishery Sciences) 4-year programme:
10+2 or equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English from a recognized Board / University with at least 50% marks in aggregate (40% marks in aggregate for SC & BC categories) excluding optional subject.
BTech (Dairy Technology) 4-year programme:
10+2 or equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and English from a recognized Board / University with at least 50% marks in aggregate (40% marks in aggregate for SC & BC categories) excluding optional subject.
Master’S Programmes
MVSC
Animal Genetics & Breeding, Animal Nutrition, Veterinary Gynecology & Obstetrics, Veterinary Medicine, Livestock Production Management, Livestock Products Technology, Veterinary Anatomy, Veterinary Biochemistry, Veterinary Microbiology, Veterinary Parasitology, Veterinary Pathology, Veterinary Pharmacology & Toxicology, Veterinary Physiology, Veterinary Public Health, Veterinary Surgery & Radiology and Veterinary & Animal Husbandry Extension. The minimum qualification for admission to MVSC programmes in COVS (other than in-service candidates) shall be BVSC & AH or equivalent degree with minimum OCPA of 6.00 (out of 10.00) or at least 60% marks in aggregate.
MVSC / MSc: (Animal Biotechnology)
The minimum qualification for admission to MVSC / MSc (Animal Biotechnology) programme (other than in-service candidates) shall be BVSC & AH or BSc (Biotechnology/Medical) or BSc (Hons.) Biotechnology / Biochemistry / Microbiology and Molecular genetics or equivalent degree with minimum OCPA of 6.00 (out of 10.00) or at least 60% marks in aggregate.
MFSC
The minimum qualification for admission to MFSC programme (other than in-service candidates) shall be BFSC from a recognized University with at least 60% marks in aggregate.
Note:
1. Kashmiri Migrants are required to appear in the Common Entrance Test- GADVASU for admission to BVSC & AH / BFSC / BTech (Dairy Technology) programmes along with other candidates.
2. For in-service candidates for all Master’s Programmes, the OCPA shall be 5.50 (out of 10.00) or 55 % marks in aggregate in the qualifying examination.
3. Nominees from other states for admission to BTech (Dairy Technology) for two seats, where there is no College of Dairy Science & Technology (against additional seats).
4. If the MVSC / MSc / MFSC seats, after filling the seats from Punjab Domicile at 1st counselling, fall vacant, the candidates of other states, who have already applied for admission to PG programme, will be eligible for admission on merit basis at the 2nd counselling of PG programme
Prospectus and Application Forms:
Prospectus containing detail about the schedule of Entrance Test / Counselling / Interview / Admission procedure, reservation of seats etc. Along with application form can be obtained from the office of the Dean, College of Veterinary Science, Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, Ludhiana -141004 either by sending crossed Bank Demand Draft for Rs.950/- drawn in favour of the Comptroller, Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, Ludhiana, payable at any scheduled bank at Ludhiana or personally from the office of the Dean, College of Veterinary Science, Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, Ludhiana from 9.30 a.m. to 4.30 p.m. on all working days on payment of Rs. 900/- in cash.
