Submission of the application form for entrance test / admission by post or in person along with Photographs and other enclosures on or before 10.06.2011 at 5.00 pm. 2. Selection will be made on the merit based on marks secured in Qualifying examinations (PUC II / 10+2 / HSC or equivalent) in relevant subjects conducted by various Board / Universities and JSSU entrance examination. 3. The application downloaded from the Website of the University should be accompanied by a DD for Rs. 1,000/- drawn in favour of “JSS UNIVERSITY FEE ACCOUNT , Mysore” payable at Mysore. 4. The entrance test will be followed by counseling and admissions on 25.06.2011.The counseling process will be announced on the website www.jssuni.edu.in. 5. The Exam Center will be at MYSORE center only. 6. Admission of selected students to courses and colleges allotted during counseling session. INTRODUCTION: a) Students will be admitted to BDS course in the constituent college of JSS University, JSS Dental college, Mysore , on the basis of the rank list prepared by the University from marks secured in Qualifying examinations (PUC II / 10+2 / HSC or equivalent) in relevant subjects conducted by various Boards of Authority and JSSU entrance examination. • 15% of total seats are reserved for NRI / Foreign / Management. • 5 % of the seats are reserved for Institutional preference. b) JSSU entrance test score are valid only for admission during the academic year 2011. c) Decision of the authorities of JSS University in case of disputes will be final. The last two years of study shall comprise of Physics, Chemistry & Biology (PCB) with English as a compulsory subject. 2) The General Merit Candidate should have passed in the subjects Physics, Chemistry, Biology & English individually and must have obtained at least 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry & Biology taken together and should have also passed in English language in the qualifying examinations i.e. PUC II / 10+2 / HSC or equivalent. As per the Dental Council of India (DCI) norms the candidates must have passed these subjects individually and must have obtained a minimum of 50% of marks taken together in PCB, Further must secure not less than 50% marks in PCB in the Common Entrance Test (JSS University Entrance Test - 2011.) 3) The SC, ST , OBC and CAT – I Candidate of Karnataka should have passed in the subjects Physics, Chemistry, Biology & English individually and must have obtained at least 40% marks in Physics, Chemistry & Biology taken together and should have also passed in English language in the qualifying examinations i.e. PUC II / 10+2 / HSC or equivalent. As per the Dental Council of India (DCI) norms the candidates must have passed these subjects individually and must have obtained a minimum of 40% of marks taken together in PCB, Further must secure not less than 40% marks in PCB in the Common Entrance Test (JSS University Entrance Test - 2011.) 4) Age: The candidate should complete 17 years of age on or before 31st December 2011 for admission to BDS programme. Application Procedure: A candidate desirous of appearing in the JSS University Entrance Test – 2011 for Undergraduate Dental Course is required to complete the prescribed application form and submit to the University in the following ways: • A candidate is required to download the prescribed application form from the University website: www.jssuni.edu.in and submit the completed form to the University on or before the scheduled date (A copy of the application form is given at ANNEXURE – I). The downloaded and printed application form should be sent along with a processing fee of Rs. 1,000/- only by way of DD favouring “JSS UNIVERSITY FEE ACCOUNT”, MYSORE, payable at Mysore along with the documents listed below. * • Candidates may also obtain the application form along with the Brochure by sending a application fee of Rs. 200/- only by way of DD favouring “JSS UNIVERSITY FEE ACCOUNT”, MYSORE , payable at Mysore. The duly filled application form should be sent to the University along with documents listed below enclosing DD for Rs. 1,000/- favouring “JSS UNIVERSITY FEE ACCOUNT”, MYSORE, payable at Mysore. ENCLOSURES WITH APPLICATION: * Attested copies of the following documents have to be enclosed along with the application form and kindly arrange the documents in the following order. 1. S.S.L.C./Equivalent examination marks card. 2. P.U.C./ 10+2 / Equivalent examination marks card 3. Conduct/Character and Transfer certificate issued by the college last studied. 4. Date of birth certificate if not mentioned in the SSLC/Equivalent examination marks card. 5. Caste / community certificate.(The certificate issued by competent authority for candidates claiming lower eligibility under SC / ST / Category – I / OBC categories. (applicable only for Karnataka candidate) 6. Transfer certificate for Karnataka board candidates. 7. Migration Certificate issued by the Board /University in case of candidates coming from outside Karnataka State. 8. Six recent, identical passport-size colour photographs with name and date.( In addition one copy of the photo should be pasted on the application form in the space provided) 9. 03 (three) Self addressed A4 size envelopes. 10. Foreign Nationals seeking admission should obtain eligibility certificate issued by JSS University, Mysore. 11. Processing fee of Rs. 2,000/- only by way of DD favouring “JSS UNIVERSITY FEE ACCOUNT”, MYSORE, payable at Mysore. The candidate should write name , address and “Application for admission to BDS courses” on the back side of the Demand Draft. The completed application with requisite documents as detailed above along with demand draft for Rs.1000/-, should be enclosed in an envelope super scribed clearly on the outside of the envelope “APPLICATION FOR ADMISSION TO BDS COURSES” and sent to the under mentioned so as to reach before 5:00 pm on 10.06.2011, either by speed post, courier or by hand. NOTE: • The candidate and the parent / guardian should sign on the space provided in the application form. • Candidates are advised to obtain & preserve proof of draft & dispatch of the application form. This may be useful for obtaining Test Admission Ticket (TAT) card if required. • CANDIDATES ARE REQUESTED NOT TO SEND ANY ORIGINAL DOCUMENTS ALONG WITH THE APPLICATION FORM. • An incomplete application form & an application form which is not accompanied by a demand draft of the prescribed fee of Rs. 1,000/- will not be entertained & processed. This fee should not be sent by money order. Please note that this fee is NON-REFUNDABLE, even if the application is rejected because of incomplete application or ineligibility of the candidate or if the applicant does not appear for the Entrance Test. • This University will not be responsible for any delay or loss of the Application / any other communication in transit. Such a delay will not be condoned. • The applicant himself has to ascertain from the university office whether his application has reached the university office or not. • Send the application form along with documents (Photocopy only) in A4 size envelope only. • Candidates should ensure that the application form is filled up properly and completely. • Please adhere to the time schedule enlisted in the calendar of events. • Incomplete / incorrect applications are liable to be rejected without prior information to the candidate. • Multiple application forms received from the same candidate will result in confusion and may result in disqualification. • Demand Drafts in excess of the prescribed fee (Rs.1000/-) if sent by the candidate will not be refunded. • JSS UNIVERSITY is not responsible for any error the candidate makes while filling up the Application Form. • JSS University will not entertain any changes in the application form and no refund will be made. • JSS University is not responsible for any loss / delay / damage which might occur during Postal or Courier delivery. • Any application received after the last date will be rejected. • Avoid stapling of Demand Draft and additional photograph to the application form. Instead use clips.
