rabbit neuter tomorrow?

I've booked my bunny in for neutering tomorrow. he's 4 years old, my question is he's never been a big eater he's always been like that so its not a dental issue. when i offer him food he's not botherd by it, hay, veg treats etc more interested in seeing me but if i leave him and the food he has a nibble at it (he eats his daily bowl of food)... now i know its important to get him eating as soon as possible after the op im worried that he wont eat do you have any suggestoins?? all i can think to do is to put food around him and try entise him but i really dont think he will eat anything. Also if anything happend to him i would feel so guilty as he was my aunties rabbit her child wasnt bothered with him so i took him on, my auntie cares for him but i did ask her if she would be ok with me booking him in and she agreed but id still feel so guilty not to mention upset, he is the sweetest little boy!! Could you tell me about your bunny if you've had him neuterd and how it went im looking for some words of encouragement really and any suggestions with the food! Thanks!

Its up to the vets to get him to eat first. They can't let him go back to you unless he has so you don't need to worry about getting him to eat after he's woken back up. If he doesn't eat by when he's supposed to eat least he's in the right place :o) Just remember to keep him inside after his neuter if he's not already - and keep him in a cold-ish room. Not outside temperature as he'll have trouble keeping himself warm for about 48hrs after the anesthetic, but not too warm so it shocks him when its time to go out again. Mine was a bit sulky to begin with anyway, but soon perked up. Boys recover a lot quicker than girls do!
