I feel kind of dumb asking this question outright, but how New Zealanders feel about Americans now a days? I very much want to try for a work visa there for a year -- I'm 33, live in Chicago Illinois, traveled extensively around the world, have a B.A. in Art and Design and certification for Dental Assisting (being practical here, folks with the Dental Assisting in crappy, economic times - so please keep judgment to a minimum). I've never met a Kiwi I haven't liked, in fact you're physically BEAUTIFUL people, I've noticed. I know those Bush years reflected awfully on us, but that's not how the vast majority of us ever where: conservative crazy. In fact, we're really nice people with infinite graciousness and caring. So, I'm merely asking your opinion, so I'm prepared when I fill out my VISA app. Have a great day:)

Generally, Kiwis are nice, friendly, laid back people. Although some do have their own (sometimes extreme) opinions about the US, most are respectable and enjoy meeting people from all corners of the world. If you give respect for their land, people and culture then respect will be returned.
