I am in extreme pain and I don't have a clue what to do about it, please, please, help me?

Alright so I have this problem where I have teeth that are all twisted up in the wrong way. What I mean by that is that they're shifted aside and tilting in bizarre ways that make it difficult to go about eating, talking and other things that require a functional set of teeth. I told this to my mom, because I have no idea how to work things out with an orthodontist in a way that would eventually end up with me getting my teeth fixed. So after telling her she proceeded to say she would help me out, after which she did nothing. So it's been about a year and my teeth are now much more malformed than before, and are starting to hurt way, way more than they did before. I'm not exactly sure how to explain how not alright I am with this. So basically what I need to know is what it takes to get help for my teeth. I'm getting really frustrated and confused and I have no idea what to do. My mom keeps on telling me that it's my responsibility to take care of my own teeth, and that I should suck it up and act mature, but the thing is: I don't even know what to do. In order for a problem to be solved, it must first have a solution. I've figured out that I need to get a 'referral' from a dentist in order to have oral surgery done. And that would be all fine and dandy except for the fact that I do not have a clue what to do to get one. I don't know whether I have to schedule an appointment for a referral or who to call ahead of time or how long I'll be able to stand the pain of my teeth not being fixed as a result of not knowing anything about the procedures involving fixing them, etc etc. So yeah, I need to know the process of how to have my teeth fixed. Remember, I have no clue what I'm doing and my parents are the ones who know anything about my dental plan/insurance/whatever. And they aren't even telling me what it is I need to do to get my teeth fixed. I feel like I've been dropped off in Africa and I'm starving because I don't know how to say "Please feed me" in any African language.

You need to get the insurance info from your mom, you need to then make an appointment with the orthodontist, most dont need a referral from a dentist, and they will explain the rest to you
