PERSONAL ASSISTANT / CAREGIVER NEEDED
Personal Assistant/Caregiver needed for 62-year-old male quadriplegic. Immediate opening! I live in Livermore in a private residence with my wife and 14 year old daughter. I am looking for a caregiver with experience in personal home care and able to transfer me (175 lbs.) without the use of mechanical lifts. The ideal candidate will be somebody able to handle the physical lifting and is looking for a position he/she can stay in for an extended period of time. The job requirements, benefits, responsibilities, and work schedule are described below.
Requirements:
ľ Good personal and employment references and telephone numbers
ľ CNA or HHA certification a plus
ľ Valid California Driver's License
ľ Social Security card
ľ Nonsmoker
ľ Likes kids and relates well with them
Benefits:
ľ Medical and dental benefits after 60 days on the job.
ľ $11.50 per hour
Responsibilities:
ľ Personal care: shower/bed bath, grooming, range of motion exercises, dressing, etc.
ľ Transfer to chair
ľ Help with medications
ľ Help with paperwork
ľ Accompany/or drive to appointments and errands in my modified van
ľ Cook and Prepare meals
ľ Light housekeeping: making bed, doing dishes, kitchen counters and floor, dusting, vacuuming, sweeping/mopping wood floors, laundry, putting garbage out, and other light cleaning as needed.
Work Schedule:
The current schedule is Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays, totaling between 145 to 150 hours per month. Typical hours are 6:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., day shift, and evenings from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. My two caregivers are expected to be available, when needed, to relieve or switch days when the other needs a day off for personal reasons.
