i have back teeth that are basically shells of what they used to be... massive cavities in the center, gums visible. i brush my teeth a lot, but i have no dental insurance so i never go. now one of the teeth has cracked and is basically a 3/4 semicircle with one side gone, but hardly any pain at all. my gums are in pretty good shape, i just have bad teeth. when i do go get them taken care of, will they have to pull these or can they crown them? i dont want to lose my jaw structure like i've heard is possible when you are missing teeth.

I went to the dentist back in December to get my teeth fixed before I was 21 because my insurance would no longer pay for my teeth being fixed once I got 21. My teeth were in pretty bad shape. I had a similar condition, with some of my teeth as well. all that is required to fix this is the area around the nerve. What my dentist did to my teeth was take an xray, to determine what was wrong with my teeth and to see where the decay was. he had to numb my gums first though. Then he drilled the decay which had the most horrible smell that I have ever experienced, After that he set a mold on my teeth and plastered around the nerve, and then dried it. It can cost between a 150 to 200 per tooth, it just depends how bad the tooth is.
