need a dentist/insurance/everything. 18yrs old only been to dentist twice?

okay so..ive only been to a dentist about twice in my life. my mom could never pay for dental insurance so ive jsut had to deal. ive always hated it, seeing everyone get braces/perfect teeth in like 6thgrade, 8th grade, etc..and now im the only one left with terrible teeth. i know i need braces probably some whitening and God knows what else. i probably come off as really shallow right now but whatever. id ont even think my mouth is healthy at all, like seriously.. wegfidgjkrdjfgdd. i remember at one point i was just so pissed i was like whatever who cares now my teeth suck so why does it matter if i dont put effort to even brushing them twice a day but yes, i will be 18 in two weeks which means im going to venture out on my own to get dental insurance/find a dentist and be embarrassed about my teeeth/ get braces/ whatever else comes my way. so, i am asking you how the hell do i got about doing this, how much is dental insurance/is it even worth it/where do i find a dentist/ any info u could provide!!!!!!!! thank u!

Blue Cross Blue Shield offers dental insurance for about 20 bucks a month for a six month premium. That's the highest coverage they offer, too. You'll have a $50 deductible(what you pay) before your insurance kicks in. After that, you pay 20% of your dental bill. Sounds really good, actually! So. Apply for Blue Cross Blue Shield through the link below. Qualify. Then, get out the phone book. Dial up some dentists, find out which ones accept BCBS insurance. How to pick a dentist...Go with whichever receptionist is the nicest. Or do whatever to choose your dentist. Ask your friends. I called my dentist up and asked if they could get me in ASAP, and they could, and I got all my dental work done in two weeks(12 cavities filled, 2 extractions). You'll be fine. I had the same coverage, I just turned 19, I didn't take too much care of my teeth either. My total, out of pocket dental bills were 450$. Not bad, I'd say. I'm set for quite a while, now. So there you go. I would not recommend getting general health insurance as well, because it ends up being more expensive than your actual bills would be. Get on a good schedule with your teeth, and you should be just fine!
