Hello, I hoping someone can give me some insight, or has had a similar problem and can help me out. Okay here's the story. I'm a 22 yr old male. I have a lump in the right side of my neck. Most likely a lymph node. About the lump, it's probably about half an inch long and tube-like. Not round and ball-like, like most people describe it. It never really hurts extremely bad. Most of the time, not at all. The only time it's really sore is when i have a headache. The size of the lump usually goes up and down a little, It never really gets very big, but sometimes gets really small, but doesn't completely go away. Okay so this started about 6 to 8 months ago, I had an infected tooth. Was on antibiotics a few times. I had the tooth pulled completely. The lump started to go away and became less tender as time went on.(during the infection it did hurt quite a bit) Now like i said the lump has never completely gone away after months and months. I do have 4 more cavities to be taken care of and my very back top molar on the right side(same side as lump) is broken and needs to be pulled. Though the tooth has been broken for well over a year now and has not been painful or swollen. Wondering if this could cause my lump. The reason it's taking me so long to get my dental work done is because I'm not eligable for free insurance through the government and am paying myself. I obviously don't have an infection because i recently had blood work done because of a boil i had on my lower abdomen. The doctor said the blood work looks perfect and normal. So what I'm wondering is if the lump is caused by my teeth's poor condition, the node has just failed to completely drain after prior infection, or if i should be worried about something more serious? Also I have had no other symptoms whatsover. No fever, feeling ill at all, no nightsweats, or anything of the sort, no weightloss. In fact, I've gained about 20 to 25 pounds in the last 4 months or so, due to a healthier lifestyle. So is this something to worry to much about right now given the circumstances. Also I haven't had any other lumps pop up or anything. Hopefully I can get some insight on this one. It's baffled me?

When the dr did the blood work, you should have ask him what he thought it was from. I would say it's your lymph node and you should get it checked.
